How to Draft a Response
Starting a Draft
After analyzing an Office Action, ask Abigail to draft a response: "Draft a response to the 103 rejection of claim 1." The Canvas editor opens in the center panel with AI-generated content.
Using Recommendation Chips
In the Rejection analysis step, click the recommendation chips (Amend, Argue, or Both) to apply AI suggestions directly to the Canvas. The amendment editor shows tracked changes with insertions in green and deletions in red.
Editing Claims
The claim amendment editor supports standard patent amendment formatting per 37 CFR 1.121(c). Additions are underlined, deletions are struck through. You can edit the text directly or accept/reject AI suggestions.
Assembling the Response
Once you have drafted arguments and amendments for all rejections, use the response assembler to compile everything into a single document. Ask: "Assemble my response." Abigail formats the Remarks, Claim Amendments, and any supporting declarations into a cohesive filing.
Exporting
The assembled response can be exported for review or filing. The document follows standard USPTO response formatting.
