Fixing Drawing Objections

Use the built-in drawing editor to fix lead lines, add reference numerals, and address common drawing objections without leaving Abigail.

Identify Drawing Objections

When an Office Action includes drawing objections, they appear in the Rejection Resolver alongside other rejections. Common objections include: missing lead lines, incorrect reference numerals, and illegible text.

Open the Drawing Editor

Click "Fix Drawing" on a drawing objection card to open the built-in tldraw editor. The original patent drawing is loaded as the background, ready for annotation.

Add Lead Lines

Select the line tool and draw lead lines from reference numerals to the corresponding features in the drawing. The editor snaps to straight lines and allows angle adjustments.

Pro Tip

Use the arrow tool for lead lines that need directional indicators. The editor supports both straight and curved arrows.

Add Reference Numerals

Select the text tool to add or correct reference numerals. The editor uses a patent-standard font and allows precise positioning. Existing numerals can be selected and moved.

Figure Management

Switch between figures using the figure selector at the top. Each figure can be edited independently. The editor supports zoom, pan, and undo/redo for precise work.

Export Corrected Drawing

Click "Export" to save the corrected drawing. The output is a high-resolution image ready for filing. It is included automatically in your Office Action response when you export from Canvas.
