Missing Documents in Prosecution History

Why Documents May Be Missing

Documents can be missing for several reasons: (1) The initial sync downloaded metadata but not all file contents. (2) Some document types (like drawings or large appendices) may take additional time to process. (3) The document may not be available on USPTO PAIR yet.

Triggering a Resync

On the case detail page, look for the resync icon (circular arrows) next to the Documents header. Click it to trigger a fresh sync from USPTO PAIR. The system checks for any documents that were not fully downloaded and re-fetches them.

Document Types

Abigail processes Office Actions (CTNF, CTFR), claims, cited references, applicant responses (ROA, REM, RESP), amendments, and administrative documents. Some document types like declarations and exhibits may require additional processing time.

Still Missing After Resync?

If documents are still missing after a resync, the document may not be publicly available on USPTO PAIR. Contact support for assistance with specific document retrieval.
