Generate USPTO Forms by Chat: RCE, IDS SB/08, Terminal Disclaimer, Power of Attorney
You should not have to remember that an RCE is SB/30. Ask for what you want to do, and the form resolves. Here is exactly which forms are wired up, what the chat does with them, and what each export costs.
Say what you want to do, not the form number
The forms tool carries a phrase map. Users say "create an RCE" or "prepare the IDS", so the map strips the verb and resolves the rest. That is why the natural sentence works and the form number is optional.
| What you say | Form |
|---|---|
| create an RCE, file RCE, RCE transmittal | SB/30 |
| IDS, information disclosure statement, cite references | SB/08 |
| IDS US patents, domestic IDS | SB/08a |
| IDS foreign, NPL IDS, non-patent literature IDS | SB/08b |
| IDS size fee, size fee assertion, cumulative IDS | SB/08c |
| terminal disclaimer, in its four forms | AIA/25, AIA/26, SB/25a, SB/26a |
| power of attorney | AIA/80 |
| revoke power of attorney | AIA/81A |
The registry holds more than this table. Ask which forms are available for your prosecution phase and it will list them.
What happens after it resolves the form
The forms toolchain runs a sequence of steps, each one its own tool. Nothing is a single black-box call:
- List the available forms, filtered by prosecution phase
- Fetch the template and its instructions, then prefill from the application record
- Calculate the fees and check the deadline the form is answering
- Generate the draft, and any remarks that go with it
- Validate the draft and save it
- Request approval, then render the final PDF
The approval step is there on purpose. A form goes to the Office over your signature, so there is a stop before the PDF.
What it costs
A USPTO form export is $25. An IDS is $9. Those are flat per-document prices, and they are the only two that apply to this page. New accounts start with $25 in credits, so the first form is covered. The rest of the export prices are on the pricing page.
What it does not do
It does not file. It does not sign. It does not decide whether an RCE is the right move on your case. It prepares the paper and hands it to you.
Try it on a real case
New accounts start with $25 in credits. Ask for an IDS and see the draft.
